Eggdrops compiled and configured

People has warn me that IE can't make any downloads...probably it has a problem with long files names. Use another browser or getright.

The Linux bots are staticly compiled using glibc 2.0.7 and TCL 8.0. Compilation made under GNU/Linux RedHat 5.2 i386.

Linux Eggdrop 1.3.28 with LoL's TooLz 6.2 and Anti Restricted Servers 1.0a (462 Ko)

Win32 Eggdrop 1.3.24i with [LoL's TooLz 6.0], [Anti Resctricted Server 1.0a] and Bass's Seen script. v1.4.1d (1333 Ko)

Installation and configuration

The text in red is the text which you must type or commands that you must execute. You must replace the elements between < > by the value which is appropriate to you. If you do not read these instructions until the END, and have problems do not ask my help.

Uncompress the bot (Linux: tar zxpvf name_of_the_file.tar.gz).

The first launching:

Linux:
/eggdrop -m bot.txt
telnet localhost < port_of_the_bot(By default 3333)>

Win32:
Launch bot.bat
Launch c:\windows\telnet.exe
Menu Connection: distant system
Host name: localhost
Port: < port_of_the_bot(By default 3333)>
Connect

Once telnet connected:
Please enter your nickname: new
Enter the nickname you would like to uses: <your_new_username>
Okay, now choose and enter has password: <your_new_password>
You are in your bot !!!
So that your bot recognizes you on IRC, in the chans and by DCC CHAT, you must add an "hostmask". General syntax of a mask:
nick!user@addresse_IP

This point you have two manners to define your mask: If your bot does not answer has a DCC CHAT with you whereas you put a mask, two cases are possible: you use MIRC which in certain cases does not use the DCC standard CHAT (the bot one refuses the connection) or your mask is not right.
In both cases, connect the bot one via telnet and to test of the chatter at the same time on IRC. The bot one will display the problem in telnet what will enable you to identify it.
To stop bot use [IMPORTANT]: .die
For the assistance: .help
For the assistance of LoL' S TooLz: .help-lol
So that your bot goes on a chan: .join #chan
To publish " bot.txt " in order to perfect the configuration (name of bot, servers IRC...)

Linux:
To launch the bot one now that the file of configuration was created:
/bot.txt or /eggdrop bot.txt

Win32:
To publish bot.bat and replace " eggdrop - m bot.txt " by " eggdrop bot.txt "
To launch the bot one now that the file of configuration was created:
bot.bat

It is ready.

In the case or some things not gone Na: PS: The list of the servers of bot are those of IRCNET, replace them by the servers of your network.
If you use your bot on IRCNET décommentez the line:
# scripts/restricted.tcl source (remove # in front)
at the end of bot.txt what will allow has your bot to avoid the servers " restricted ".
